In a very few days, the Loaf will be on the move once more.. this time heading over in his private jetbaguette to BOLOGNA for the Children's Book Fair.  The flurry of preparation has meant a bit of a lapse blog-wise, but on our return we and he will tell you all about it.  Meanwhile, if you'll be there too, why not visit him there?  Pam Smy and the estimable and talented folks of the MA Children's Book Illustration are taking a stall out there, and are inviting Loafy to take a pew amongst a dizzying array of brilliant new books.  If the Bun himself ain't enough of an incentive, you could hardly resist a sniff at more 'n a hundredsworth of fresh stories before they are even properly born into the world? No you could not.  Come on then.  See you there!

relatively absolute: LOAf at Wysing

On Wednesday, Loaf Magazine joined forces with Wysing Arts Centre and a crowd of enthusiasts to create characters, maps and comics in response to Wysing's current exhibition, Relatively Absolute.  The exhibition presents work by artists who were in residence at Wysing during 2012 alongside sources of inspiration.  It aims to allow visitors to explore the intuitive connections that we inevitably make between objects.  Read more about it here.

We started off with plenty of stuff

... who had plenty of adventures.

Paris in the Springtime (nearly almost)

If you are in Paris this Valentine's (who isn't frankly), and you tire of the Tower and the Tuileries, you might head over to the Shakespeare and Company Bookshop for a pleasant afternoon's browsing.  Pick up a  copy of LOAf while you're there..

Tea at the Palace

On Saturday the Loaf did errands in Crystal Palace, delivering sandwiches to the beasts in the park.  Prehistoricness is hungry work.

Then he strode up and over to the Bookseller Crow on the Hill, where he was most courteously made welcome, and you can find him there now,  next door but one to some excellent blue-tongued skink.

Meanwhile a few stops and heps up the line, Loaf is once more available from Clapham Books!

How do YOU like to read LOAf?

Catherine Cronin reserves her quality LOAf-cosy-time for Saturday mornings with the best blanket in the world.

Zack Rock can only read his LOAf on a roof-top somewhere in the U S of A. This makes life difficult but at least he has LOAf to keep him entertained up there. Oh hang on, we're going round in circles.

     Samara reads hers in Foyles and as LOAf loves Foyles and Samara too, it means everyone's happy.

Now that we've got LOAf in 3 capital cities (London, Edinburgh and Paris) as well as in Oxford, Cambridge and Bristol, we are dying to see some 

  pictures of who is reading it and where and how!

Tweet, email or facebook a picture of yourself (or your cousin or your dog, your cat or someone, anyone really), reading their copy of LOAf against an intriguing backdrop (remember, most things are intriguing to the LOAf team, especially to LOAf Man) or in an unlikely situation (for instance up a tree, in the snow, in a broom cupboard) and

LOAf in the Land of the Brave

Last week me and Becky took our wee LOAf MAN across the borders to SCOTLAND and showed him off to some of the several extremely beautiful bookshops in Edinburgh.

LOAf MAN was really excited about going to a country he had never visited before and because he is such a cultured and naive little fella he did his research by watching Braveheart.

As impressionable as he is cultured, he ended up, as is usual with him, going a bit too far by buying some tartan and a wig along the Royal Mile and acting just like (in his mind), a real Scots hero.

The bread kids in a nearby bakery had some mixed reactions....

Oh I forgot to mention that Chocolate Claire came with us to Edinburgh. The drama of wild rolling hills and whirling mists made her and LOAfie get all romantic, much to the dismay of Dundee Doug, who they met on their stroll.
