LOAf will be at TWO WHOLE fairs this weekend!

Come visit us at the Bristol Artists Book Event, held at the Arnolfini on Saturday 20th and Sunday 21st from 11.00 - 17.00.  It's totally free!  do come down, we'd love to see you.

We will also be at Comika's Spring Comiket on Saturday, held this year at Central St Martins from 11.00 - 19.00.  Entry's free to this one too, so you could even scoot to both: tuppence ha'penny for the Megabus and Loaf's your uncle! Oh if only..

LOAf at Laydeez Do Comics Bristol, AND Drop-in Workshop at Heffers, Cambridge!

At the next meeting of the Bristol branch of Laydeez do Comics, on the 8th April, Rosie will be talking to keen fellow comicoes about how the LOAf came to be what he is, our first ideas, our progress and various dreams for possible future noses.

She'll be getting up alongside Joff Winterhart, who wrote Days of the Bagnold Summer, shortlisted for the Costa Book awards 2012, also generally well-known as a contributor to the first Loaf.

Also Hannah Berry, Illustrator and author of Britten & Brulightly.

If you're in town, or nearby, or deadset on being there however far you have to travel, here are the details:

Ah good, the sea

So a little while ago (around the 6th of March), Loafy took the sleeper train to Falmouth for the Illustration Forum, this year all about COMICS.  Isabel Greenberg, Tom Gauld, Barnaby Richards and Catherine Anyango all told a piece about their current goings on and past projects.  The Loaf made some new friends - world-class crossworders Nathan and Hayley who also find time to run No Guts No Glory down in Exeter.  He may be found there now most days of the week, and in the evenings back at Beerwolf Books in Falmouth, who supply drinks, books and nooks of all sizes for readers great and small.  

The thing about Falmouth is.. they've got dandy beaches, rocks, castles, pasties, all that stuff - but you better look out for the seagulls.  Especially the breadlegged amongst you.  Watch your step.

The bins by the sea have lids on to keep these bloodthirsties out.  Just keep your back-end on the slender side...

In a very few days, the Loaf will be on the move once more.. this time heading over in his private jetbaguette to BOLOGNA for the Children's Book Fair.  The flurry of preparation has meant a bit of a lapse blog-wise, but on our return we and he will tell you all about it.  Meanwhile, if you'll be there too, why not visit him there?  Pam Smy and the estimable and talented folks of the MA Children's Book Illustration are taking a stall out there, and are inviting Loafy to take a pew amongst a dizzying array of brilliant new books.  If the Bun himself ain't enough of an incentive, you could hardly resist a sniff at more 'n a hundredsworth of fresh stories before they are even properly born into the world? No you could not.  Come on then.  See you there!

relatively absolute: LOAf at Wysing

On Wednesday, Loaf Magazine joined forces with Wysing Arts Centre and a crowd of enthusiasts to create characters, maps and comics in response to Wysing's current exhibition, Relatively Absolute.  The exhibition presents work by artists who were in residence at Wysing during 2012 alongside sources of inspiration.  It aims to allow visitors to explore the intuitive connections that we inevitably make between objects.  Read more about it here.

We started off with plenty of stuff

Paris in the Springtime (nearly almost)

If you are in Paris this Valentine's (who isn't frankly), and you tire of the Tower and the Tuileries, you might head over to the Shakespeare and Company Bookshop for a pleasant afternoon's browsing.  Pick up a  copy of LOAf while you're there..
